Just in my head

Ok, today was the first day I was really in a bad mood, for more than one month. I really had cabin fever and my flat seemed to get smaller and smaller every minute. In the morning the hot water was broken (again) and you can imagine I was really pissed, it seemed like I could not catch a break at all. I was thinking about a lot of things but somehow couldn’t find anything positive at all (which is really weird considering how optimistic I am in general)

Even though I still felt a little sick I just had do leave my room and take a walk, no matter what.

I took a walk to The Hereastra Park (which is about one hour away from my place) and in the first place I was a little bit scared, cause the weather wasn’t to good at all (very cloudy) and I took a small path where there it was only me and a pack of wild dogs.

But after walking and walking I somehow felt a little bit better. Finally I saw something particular which changed my mood immediately. It was just a little thing, or should I say a big thing. However it was a big dark cloud which was hiding the sun. And instantly everything started to make sense again.

Let’s look at the things like I did: The sun is happiness, it’s all the fun of the world and it’s just the perfect mood. The cloud on the other hand is visualization of all the stuff which gets in your way in order to be happy or have fun. The cloud is all the stuff which makes it impossible to be in a good mood. The sun is wrapped in the cloud, and so are your feelings coated by some bad influences. The important aspect is that you can’t do anything about the clouds. You can not affect the clouds, no matter how hard you try – you will never be able to move them in order to see the sun. And it’s exactly the same with some of the things in your real life; sometimes you just don’t have any impact on them. Sometimes you can tax your brain as hard as you can and try everything possible, some things will not change at all.

The only thing which is in you power is the way you look at the things.

You know, you see a cloud and the sun somewhere covered inside. Now you can either think: “Shit it’s cloudy again, the sun is not shining and I don’t like it at all” You don’t know when it will be sunny again and so you might even think: “The weather is horrible, I can’t enjoy anything and I can’t make plans because I don’t know how long the cloud will last”

Some might even be pessimistic when the sun is shining. “In fact the sun is shining but the next cloud is only waiting to cover the sun again, and then everything will be bad again!”

But you could easily argue the other way around. Even if the sun is covered in a cloud, it only can get better. And because you know that the sun will come out certainly you even can look forward to it. Some people even say that “anticipation is the greatest pleasure”.

And sometimes the feeling when the sun is finally appearing is just overwhelming.

Nobody can tell me that if you see the sun arising after a cloudy day, you somehow feel respect for the situation.

And basically it’s the same with our live. Even when your day is covered with bad stuff you always have the choice how to look at the situation. Of course you can feel bad or even be pity for yourself, but usually that’s not helping the case.

So wouldn’t it be better to look at the things in a good way. Looking forward to all the bright spots the world holds ready for you. And if you are honest with yourself you know that these spots are there and if you open your eyes you will find them. That’s for sure.

So, and that’s all I can tell you at this point, try to look at your live in a good way!

Have trust in a good world. And if you understand this, the world will be good. Also for you.

Maybe not all the time, but certainly more often than not. Just like the weather has more good than bad day’s for you.
